Release The Inner Kid

Kid Running

I love exercising outdoors.  Always have and always will.  I remember growing up I was always outside running through the woods, climbing trees, swimming in, or trying to jump over the creek.  Now a days, living in a concrete jungle like Osaka doesn’t afford me much of an opportunity to get out and stretch my limbs in the woods.  Or even a decent park for that matter.

However, we’ve always got to do the best with what we have.  That usually means one needs to get creative with their workouts.  Unless you want to hit the gym machines.  Uh, no thanks…

Like a kid after a great tear through the forrest, I want to leave my clients feeling like they gave it all and didn’t waste a moment.  And that’s what I give them.  25 minutes at a time.  That’s all it takes to get in, warm up, do their workout, cool down, and be in the changing room.  Believe me.  Those last 5 minutes of compensatory Prasara yoga after a High Intensity TACFIT® workout leave you standing in a pool of sweat.  And looking like a million bucks after 28 days.

All sales pitches aside, getting in my daily 25 minutes is like brushing my teeth.  My day just doesn’t feel complete without it.  And believe me, I’ve got to get the ‘kid’ in me to come out each and everyday!

A lot of my clients think that I go full out everyday.  While I currently do perform Intu-Flow, TACFIT®, and Prasara everyday, not every day is a High Intensity Day.  I currently go three days of Medium Intensity with one High Intensity Day. After 28 Days of that I spend a full week of doing nothing but Intu-Flow and Prasara Yoga.

The most important thing in keeping me injury free and ready for the next day is my daily practice done with incremental progression.  I’ve always got a goal and while each workout is different everyday it is anything from random.

Here was my TACFIT® session today.

20 seconds of work followed by 10 second rest for 8 sets.

  1. Tuck Jump Squats
  2. P-Bar Rocco Presses
  3. Candlestick Rocks with 15lb Clubbell
  4. Burpees

Of course I finished up with my compensatory Prasara yoga.

I put one of my clients through a similar session today.  Here was the result.

Live Lean, Live Well Post Workout

Live Lean.  Live Well.
